Wnt Proteins - proteins originally isolated in fruit flies and later shown to act through the b-catenin pathway to promote pluripotency.

Leukemia Inhibitory Factor (LIF) - an interleukin 6 cytokine that results in stem cell differentiation if levels drop below a certain threshold in tissue culture.

Allogeneic - transplant from one human to another.

Conditioned Medium - medium that has been prepared in the presence of co-culture with various cell types.

Bone Morphogenetic Proteins (BMPs) - a family of growth factors that play key roles in signaling the body axis and tissue architecture of developing embryos.
